Last weekend, Hannes Van Droogenbroeck delivered another top performance. In the Orleans race (358 km), he secured 2nd place against 798 pigeons and also achieved an impressive 7th Provincial against no less than 10,286 pigeons in East Flanders.

The star of the day is a grandchild of our own legendary racer “De Flup”. Upon arrival, however, an unexpected challenge arose: a bird of prey was circling above the loft. This caused the pigeon to stay in the air for 3 to 4 minutes before finally deciding to trap. Only after Hannes released his 7th dropper did the pigeon dive into the loft.

Those few lost minutes may have cost him the 1st prize, but it remains a remarkable and memorable performance.
