Last weekend, the 39th International Racing Pigeon Fair, better known among pigeon fanciers as the ‘pigeon Olympics’, took place. It is an international event, but when we asked around at the various stands, there was some disappointment regarding the number of visitors. Attendance was particularly low on Friday and Sunday, while on Saturday it was mainly German fanciers who had bought an entrance ticket.  There was a lot of praise for the party evening and the sale of pigeons was also very successful.  The exhibition of the Olympiad pigeons took place in the same hall as the exhibitors, and some attendees suggested that it was possible to get very close to the pigeons. Fortunately, there were cameras and security personnel present. Here are a few ‘atmospheric images’; the photos of the Olympiad and World Best Pigeon awards will follow soon.
