For the national flight from La Souterraine we had to deal with very warm temperatures. The winners can be found in the province of West Flanders and in this region it is rare that we find a national winner. The Vandromme family Dieter & Steffi won 1st National La Souterraine against 4,971 old pigeons and also had the fastest of 10,259 pigeons in total. This cock also won the 1st Nat (z) Argenton last year so had already proven his talent for this. They clocked 3 pigeons in the first 107 National, 2 with the old pigeons and one with the yearlings.

System widowers

The widowers are raced here on classic widowhood, the pigeons are not paired in the winter. Their first pairing takes place in March and then they have been allowed to brood for 4 days. The cocks train once a day in the evening because I always work during the day. They are never forced to train, the pigeons are fed here in the afternoon so that they have plenty of energy when they go outside.

When they are basketed, they always get a hen, never for long, maximum 5 to 10 minutes. When they come home, they usually stay together for 2 hours. I don't like to put the pigeons together for long.

In preparation, our pigeons flew several speed and middle distance flights. From the national flights, they always fly every 14 days. They always get a week's rest between 2 flights.

In terms of nutrition, we always use the Matador mixtures, we use Start, Atlethic and Turbo Extreme. The by-products are those of Backs as prescribed in the schedule.

We always go to Pascal Lanneau for a check-up. The pigeons were purified against tricho after the first Arras and now again after La Souterraine. For the airways I gave Soludox for 3 days this year as a preventive measure.
